Earlier Conversations Produce Better Outcomes
The most useful conversations BM Greenhouses has with facilities are the ones that happen before a project is formally defined — while a fault is still intermittent, while an upgrade is being discussed internally, while a maintenance arrangement is under review. At that stage, the operational picture is still open. The brief has not yet been shaped by assumptions that are difficult to unwind. The range of practical options is wider.
Conversations that begin after procurement has opened are still useful. They are simply more constrained.
The process moves only as far as the situation requires — from a first conversation to a defined next step.
How It Works
Initial conversation — no charge. A call or meeting to understand the facility, the issue, urgency and whether BM Greenhouses is the right fit.
Site visit — where useful. If a visit is needed, the scope and any cost are agreed before it proceeds. Clarifies facility context, constraints and likely priorities before any structured review is quoted.
Glasshouse Review & Options Report — paid. Where structured technical input is needed before design, procurement or works are agreed. A defined review with a fixed fee calculated on site size, complexity and scope — not an open-ended consultancy engagement. The deliverable is specific: a documented review, identified risks, practical options, and a recommended next step.
For institutional facilities with procurement governance requirements, the Review produces the independent technical documentation that the process requires — as a byproduct of doing the diagnostic work properly, not as a separate exercise.
Scope Definition / Pre-Tender Brief — paid where needed. Formal basis for procurement, pricing or phased delivery.
Maintenance contracts — quoted separately. Often the starting point for a longer relationship.
Credit-back: Advisory fees may be credited against agreed works if BM Greenhouses is subsequently appointed, by prior agreement.
When to Make Contact
A heating, controls, ventilation or irrigation issue is affecting environmental stability
Recurring faults where the root cause remains unclear after contractor intervention
Maintenance currently fragmented across contractors who each see only part of the facility
A planned upgrade may affect wider system behaviour and the scope is not yet defined
A project is approaching procurement and independent scope definition is needed before a brief is issued
A facility is evolving in phases and has become harder to manage as one environment
